**About the role**: We have multiple positions available for VPS4 and VPS5 Specialists.
**The VPS4 advisor will be responsible for**:
- Developing, drafting and coordinate briefings, submissions and correspondence to ensure the organisation and its partners are meeting their obligations.
- Identifying matters of urgency and escalating to management where appropriate.
- Providing advice to the branches business units and the Organising Committee on briefings and correspondence processes, as well as Cabinet and Committee processes.
- Achieving a strong client service focus for activities by establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships within the branch, across the Department, with Minister's Offices, the Organising Committee, and other external stakeholders.
- Providing briefing support to key Committees and Ministerial meetings, and support on briefings that contribute to the future direction of the branch.
**The VPS5 senior advisor will be responsible for**:
- Drafting strategic briefings on priority topics and issues impacting the branches for senior executive and Victorian Government Ministers.
- Developing and managing projects and initiatives in the branch, including the implementation of process maps and cross-collaboration projects to ensure appropriate linkages are being made across the organisation.
- Providing expert knowledge and advice to all stakeholders including the branches business units, the Organising Committee, and other agencies on a range of matters, including Cabinet and Committee processes and PPQs.
- Identify, analyse, and progress strategic issues and formulate innovative and workable solutions and strategic authoritative advice based on evidence for the Executive Director, Governance and Coordination, senior managers, and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the development of initiatives and ongoing improvements to assist with corporate planning, reporting and executive decision-making.
**Key Selection Criteria**:
- **Strategic advice**: Highly developed innovative problem solving and solution generation skills, including demonstrated ability to develop strategies and frameworks and quickly assimilate new concepts and information.
- **Governance**: Demonstrated knowledge of effective governance systems and processes, ideally in a government environment.
- **Stakeholder relationships skills**: Well-developed stakeholder management skills with a proven track record in demonstrating sound judgement and an ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders, and to negotiate, influence and build consensus at senior levels on complex and sensitive issues.
- **Teamwork**:Displays leadership in working well with others in the pursuit of team goals; collaborates and shares information; shows consideration, concern and respect for others' feelings and ideas; accommodates and works well with the different working styles of others; encourages resolution of conflict within group; can delegate and provide clear direction to other team members.
