About the Role
Ventia is seeking a skilled GIS Developer to manage and enhance our enterprise GIS platforms, supporting both Defence and internal operations. Based in Victoria, you'll be responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of spatial data systems, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across the organisation.
You'll work closely with GIS Managers, Analysts, and Coordinators to deliver spatial solutions, support reporting and analysis, and drive innovation in geospatial technologies. Your expertise will contribute to the planning and execution of GIS enhancements, automation, and integration with enterprise systems.
This is a hybrid role with the office location based in Cremorne, Melbourne.
About You
You're a technically proficient GIS professional with strong experience in:
* ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro
* JavaScript, Python, SQL, and geospatial libraries like GDAL, GeoPandas
* Spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle Spatial)
* Enterprise integration (ERP/CRM), cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), SAP knowledge would be beneficial
* Automation tools (ArcPy, Model Builder), CI/CD pipelines, and Git - Having used FME or Alteryx will put you ahead of the pack
You bring a collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable GIS solutions. A diploma or degree in spatial sciences or a related field is essential, along with eligibility for Defence Security Clearance.
