Be Part of the Future of Fair Trading
At NSW Fair Trading, we've been on an exciting journey of transformation — reimagining how we deliver for the people and communities of NSW. Through our recent organisational realignment, we've built a new operating model designed to put customers at the centre of everything we do, strengthen our regulatory impact, and enable our people to thrive.
We're creating a more modern, responsive and risk-based Fair Trading — one that understands the needs of people and businesses, embraces collaboration and innovation, and delivers better outcomes across the rental, strata, property and consumer markets we serve.
This next phase brings new and exciting opportunities to join us in shaping "the new way" — where you can help design smarter regulations, improve customer experiences, and make a real difference for the people of NSW.

About the teams

These roles sit within NSW Fair Trading's, across various branches, such as Rental and Strata & Property Service.

Rental Branch, Mediation team
For Rental Branch, the role is part of the Mediation Team which sits within the Compliance and Resolution Directorate. The team's objective is to provide impartial, timely voluntary proactive mediation and guidance helping parties reach agreement, resolving disputes early, and preventing escalation to NCAT where appropriate. The team works collaboratively to uphold rental laws, proactively manage risks, and protect the rights of tenants and landlords across NSW to encourage and maintain trust in the rental system.

Strata & Property Services, Mediation team
For the Strata & Property Branch, the role is part of the Strata & Property Services Mediation Team. The mediation team works to ensure fair, risk-based and impactful regulation of the strata and property industry in NSW and uphold the rights and responsibilities of all participants in NSW's strata and property services industry. The main focus of the team is to provide a free alternative dispute resolution service for residents of NSW who live in or own a property in strata and community schemes, retirement villages and residential land lease communities.

If you're someone who:

1. Thinks deeply about the needs of people and communities,
2. Is motivated by great outcomes, not just processes, and
3. Wants to be part of an organisation that's transforming how regulation works —
...then there's a place for you in our future.

Join us as we build a Fair Trading that's fit for the future — one that's customer-centred, evidence-driven, and proudly focused on public value.
