Job Description

* Full-Time, Fixed-Term Position for 5 Years commencing in January 2026
* Based at Western's Hawkesbury Campus
* $112,718 to $136,180 p.a. Inclusive of Superannuation + Leave Loading

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Research Project Manager to join the School of Nursing and Midwifery, working across the Disability, Chronic Conditions, and Oral Health Themes. Based primarily at our Hawkesbury Campus (with flexibility for other locations and hybrid arrangements), this role will lead research focused on improving oral health outcomes for people with intellectual disability living in the Sydney basin. Over a five-year period, you will manage projects using diverse methods, including arts-based approaches, cross-sectional surveys, intervention development, implementation, and evaluation. You will collaborate closely with people with intellectual disability, their families, disability services, policy makers, and a large multidisciplinary research team. The position also involves supervising research assistants on tasks such as data collection and analysis. This autonomous role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on health equity and inclusion.

Your key responsibilities:

As Research Project Manager, you will oversee and execute research activities to ensure all aspects of the research process are delivered efficiently and effectively. This includes coordinating participant engagement, supervising research assistants, and working collaboratively with peer researchers with intellectual disability. You will develop data collection tools, conduct literature reviews, and manage both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. The role involves preparing ethics applications, progress reports, and essential research documents such as online program manuals, recruitment materials, and protocol documents. You will manage research data for presentation and publication, contribute to high-quality outputs including journal articles and book chapters, and disseminate findings through conferences, seminars, and community forums. Additionally, you will build partnerships with external organizations, train and supervise junior staff, and ensure compliance with document and data storage requirements using project management tools in line with University policy and legislative standards.

This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity for 5 years based on the Hawkesbury Campus in Richmond, New South Wales. Travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a passionate and driven researcher with a strong foundation in soil and plant microbiomes and a commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture. You'll bring:

* Must hold an Undergraduate or Masters degree/s in health and/or social sciences.
* Project management skills and experience working in the disability sector, including liaising with key stakeholders.
* Demonstrated research project skills, such as experience on funded research projects, or currently working toward a PhD in health or social sciences.
* Excellent communication skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with government departments, professional networks, agencies, and organisations.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level A $112,718 to $136,180 p.a. (comprising Salary of $95,248 to $115,074 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
