About the Role The Honourable Associate Justice Steffensen and Associate Justice Barrett are seeking an Executive Assistant to join the Associate Judges' Chambers in an ongoing position. As part of a small team within chambers, the Executive Assistant provides administrative, legal and general support to the judiciary. The successful candidate will be reliable and highly organised with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment is mandatory, and the candidate must be experienced in managing multiple diaries and caseloads with strong attention to detail. Duties include: * Managing the judge's diary and keeping track of the progress of their matters with a view to being able to appropriately communicate with others on their behalf * Demonstrating professionalism, tact, and discretion, including the ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information * Maintaining and optimising case management processes, including keeping track of matter progress and monitoring parties' compliance with court orders * Maintaining chambers resources, including Associate manuals * Organising and setting up for meetings, seminars, appointments, and other commitments, including attending to all logistics and arranging official travel * Assisting with the production of orders and reasons, including quickly and accurately typing and proofreading drafts, checking cross-referencing and citations * Assisting the judge with all aspects of their court work, as required, including organising and informing parties about listings, setting up for court and attending court to provide assistance during hearings * Typing and proofreading, including fact-checking The closing date for applications is 22 March 2026.
