We’re seeking multiple Paralegals and Legal Secretaries to join our State Government client’s expanding team in Brisbane. These contract roles are ideal for highly organised and motivated professionals wanting to contribute to high-quality service delivery across a variety of legal matters.
About the Roles
Our client is offering exciting opportunities for both Paralegals and Legal Secretaries to provide essential support to legal teams.
- Paralegal roles will focus on litigation and claims support, including document preparation, research, discovery processes, trial preparation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Legal Secretary roles will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to legal professionals, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
These positions are being offered on 6-month contracts with the possibility of extension, located at the client’s Brisbane City office.
Key Responsibilities – Paralegal
- Filing and serving legal documents, conducting searches, and compiling briefs and files
- Supporting discovery processes including inspection, copying, and preparing lists of documents
- Drafting routine court documentation and correspondence
- Assisting with trial preparation and attending hearings as required
- Coordinating meetings, mediations, and interviews
- Liaising with clients, Counsel, expert witnesses, and stakeholders
- Maintaining bring-up systems, time recording, billing support, and indexing documents
- Undertaking legal research and assisting with witness interviews
Key Responsibilities – Legal Secretary
- Undertake high-level, accurate word processing and typing
- Format complex documents (Word, PowerPoint, and PDF)
- Prepare briefs, documents, and routine correspondence
- Monitor and manage incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Coordinate travel and accommodation
- Manage information (Excel spreadsheets, practice management systems, case management systems such as VisualFiles)
- Manage diaries, organise meetings and conferences, prepare agendas, minutes, and other materials
- Maintain filing, records, bring-up and retrieval systems
- Assist legal professionals with financial deadlines including billing and time recording
- Ensure compliance with procedures for payment of legal expenses and counsel fees
- Provide timely and professional services, undertaking other duties as required to support the operational area
About You
You’ll be a motivated skilled with demonstrated experience as either a Paralegal or Legal Secretary, with a strong interest in legal practice and a commitment to delivering accurate, productive, and high-quality support. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with legal systems and Microsoft Office are essential.
