The City of Port Lincoln is seeking a Supervisor Structures and Facilities to ensure the safety, functionality and reliability of Council's buildings and community infrastructure through the maintenance, renewals and improvement of community‐facing facilities.
Key Objectives
* Provide leadership to direct reports by setting clear expectations, offering guidance and support, and promoting high standards of workmanship, safety and productivity.
* Supervise and coordinate maintenance technicians, tradespeople and contractors, including management of relevant service contracts.
* Oversee the maintenance, repair and presentation of Council buildings, facilities and structures, including community buildings, civic assets, playgrounds, public amenities and cemeteries.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and infrastructure to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards and compliance requirements, including playground inspections.
* Coordinate and prioritise maintenance works, repairs, upgrades and capital projects in collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.
* Support asset management planning and preventative maintenance programmes to optimise the lifecycle and performance of Council assets.
* Ensure Council buildings and facilities comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations and accessibility standards, including coordinating inspections, permits and required certifications.
* Plan and allocate resources, develop work schedules, and oversee daily operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, reporting, and asset record management for the Structures and Facilities function.
* Prepare reports and correspondence and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
* Collaborate with internal departments, elected members and community stakeholders to identify facility needs and service priorities.
* Respond to service requests, enquiries and community enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
* Participate in Council's after‐hours on‐call roster to respond to urgent building, facility and infrastructure matters as required.
* Ensure workplace incidents, hazards, near misses and property damage are reported in accordance with Council's work health and safety procedures.
* Maintain awareness of industry best practice including sustainability, inclusivity and community wellbeing and promote Council Values.
* Undertake other duties consistent with the position as directed by the Manager, Places and Presentation.
