* The Health and Security Assistant role provides support to the nursing team in the delivery of patient care as directed by nursing staff
* General assistance in wards
* Cleaning duties and portering for patient transfers around the facility and undertakes security related duties as required and or directed

About Wilcannia
Wilcannia is a small, primarily Aboriginal community in far west NSW situated on the banks of the Darling River. Once a busy river port, the town is full of history and heritage listed buildings. In the heart of the Aussie Outback, life in Wilcannia is quiet, clean and beautiful.
The Wilcannia Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) has a 24-hour 2 bed emergency department and 8 residential aged care beds. Wilcannia MPS has been providing care to the local community for over 140 years. As we work in partnership with the RFDS and Maari Ma the position provides opportunity to learn how to work with other healthcare organisations.

Selection Criteria
* Previous experience working in a company or organisation undertaking commercial cleaning or providing general assistance or a similar role.
* Food Safety Certificate or willingness to undertake within six months of employment.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and take directions from supervisor.
* Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
* Current security license.
