Health & Safety Environmental Compliance Manager

This is apermanent full-time position based at Youngtown Depot with travel to New Norfolk Depot, Prestart Coupes and Exeter Depot.
This plays an important role in shaping a proactive safety culture in LWE and ensuring our operations set the benchmark for industry regulations and standards.
This position ensures that our operations and business transactions follow all relevant State/NHVR Laws and Workplace Safety Legislations.

To be considered for this role you must meet the selection criteria below:
Certificate in occupational health and safety or the ability to study to get this certificate
Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, TN360 and Guardian an advantage
Proven experience as a Compliance Manager or similar
Experience in risk management and demonstrated experience in auditing and compliance methodologies
Knowledge of NHVR and Transport Law requirements and controls
Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
Ability to work autonomously and proactively
Integrity and professional ethics
Business acumen
Responsibilities
Maintain current knowledge of NHVR laws, implement, communicate and educate employees of their requirements and responsibilities
In depth knowledge of legislation and procedures in Transport / Harvesting
Support the development of OHS policies and programs
Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
Initiate and organise Inductions, OHS training of employees and executives
Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and oversee worker's compensation claims
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management and must have experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
Review and maintain Subcontractor management, insurance, compliance
Performing compliance checks on Electronic Work Diary to ensure accurate completion and compliance
Ensuring EWD's are entered in accordance with company and legislative time frames
Contribute to development and implementation of safety procedures and risk assessments and ensure best practice is followed and compliance is achieved
Complete safety observations, inspections, auditing and compliance reporting
Conduct Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) Inductions and maintain BFM documentation
Other ad hoc duties as directed by Les Walkden – Managing Director
Coordinate and monitor the renewal of employee compliance training, licensing and medical requirements
Collate and conduct all internal audits as required – inc.
NHVR Mass Management / BFM Audits
Monitor and report any breaches and incidents
Toolbox Meetings, safety and compliance meetings
Complete documentation for NHVR deleting and amending vehicles, applying for cart route permits and special permits
