Job Summary
Thales is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their diverse team of engineers, technicians, and production staff. As a key member of the In-Service Support (ISS) team, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Scylla sonars and associated equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform engineering-related tasks to maintain and support equipment and systems.
* Work with the Scylla ISS Engineering team to deliver and maintain equipment and systems.
* Undertake Root Cause Analysis on location or on components returned from site.
* Design new components for equipment and systems or test fixtures.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A recognised Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering degree able to meet the requirements for Professional membership of Engineers Australia.
* A working knowledge of drafting practice and relevant Australian standards.
* A working knowledge of Inventor CAD or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 years experience working 'hands on' as part of a team to manufacture and/or support high quality technical equipment or systems.
* Good knowledge of engineering design, verification and configuration processes.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Good initiative, self-management and planning skills.
