The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for the following core responsibilities whilst Managing a small team made up of Sales, Marketing and customer service people (5 in total).
- Overseeing the marketing functions including brand management, market research, digital marketing,
social media strategy
- Development of sales and marketing strategy
- Development, monitoring and recommendation amendments to sales forecasts and sales & marketing
budgets including revenue and expenditure
- Recruit and manage sales and marketing staff and external services
- Establish, build and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients
- Input to company strategy, informing Board considerations and proposing initiative to realise
key objectives
- Environmental scanning and research to inform new product/service opportunities, identify
changes in market conditions and keep abreast of competitor activity
- Represent the company at a range of functions including promotional events and
conferences to build brand and support achievement of sales objectives
- Source new clients and develop and implement strategies to establish
existing and new products in new markets
- Establish and maintain effective networking arrangements with key VET
bodies
- Organise and participate in sales trips
- Understand the VET market including structure, compliance requirements,
key bodies and funding arrangements
- Understand companies' products including the features and benefits of different
product groups and how these products meet the needs of various market
segments
- Identify, monitor evaluate and report on market trends
Key Skills
Demonstrated ability to drive a team to meet sales targets, retain and grow existing
customer base and source new customer segments
- Understanding of educational environments (vocational or higher education) and how
decisions are made
- Experience in utilising a sales system management - CRM, order processing, debt
management
- Experience in driving continuous improvement and innovation in business practices,
particularly enabled by data & technology
- Experience in analyzing sales and customer data and reporting on results
- Experience in proactively and pragmatically identifying and managing risks in volatile sales
and B:B environments
This position requires intra and interstate travel as well as participation in events and
exhibitions requiring the employee to regularly work outside standard office hours.
-The role would ideally suit someone who has had exposure to the VET industry and/or has an understanding of regulatory compliance, worked in a private RTO or Secondary education. Intensive training will also be given.
