Description About the role As a Technical Lead within our Technology & Transformation division, you will play a pivotal role that develops and implements payment solutions for Australia’s leading mutual bank. The role is responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance in the selection, design, and development of customer-centric platforms. This position holds the delegated responsibility and accountability for delivering exceptional banking services, products, and applications directly used by customers and employees. This role is offered as a 12 months fixed term contract with potential extensions or permanency. Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical leadership and guidance to the payments team on solution design, integration and operational handover activities. Technical Mentoring: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their technical growth and promoting knowledge sharing within the team. Solution Architecture: Collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to oversee the design of scalable, reliable, and secure payments solutions that meet business requirements, strategic goals, security and compliance requirements. Change Management: Lead and oversee changes into production, ensuring that development, design, testing, and verification adhere to strict ITIL standards and maintain strong Secure Stable & Resilient (SSR) standards, minimising impacts to customers and staff. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, delivery leads and analysts, to ensure effective collaboration and seamless integration of payment platforms with other systems and applications. Agile Methodology: Drive the adoption of agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and promote continuous improvement within the team. Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, technical standards and guidelines. About you You have strong expertise in successful development and implementation of payment solutions that is usable, stable, secure, compliant, and aligned to business objectives. The Technical Lead, Payments will achieve this by providing strong technical leadership and mentorship to the team, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. Knowledge and Experience Essential Extensive financial services and IT operations experience Expert technical acumen within payments – NPP & Batch Processing Experience with real time fraud management platforms Experience with solution design, software development and integration projects Familiarity with agile software development methodologies Documentation and written communication skills. Desirable Technical familiarity with current and/or future-state (preferred) systems is beneficial incl.
