Job Description
Our client is currently seeking two individuals to join their team on their mixed cattle and broadacre cropping property near Pine Creek in the NT. One position is for a Senior Farm Hand who will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the cropping program. This includes all aspects of hay, silage and grain cropping operations with the potential to venture in cotton in the future. The client runs a very diverse enterprise which is continually expanding and advancing.
Key responsibilities for the Senior Farm Hand role
* Implementing all of the day‑to‑day tasks on farm for the cropping program as set out with the Manager
* Utilise farming machinery with GPS technology for everything from ground preparation, sowing, spraying, spreading, harvesting grain and/or making hay and silage
* Accurately keeping records for all related farming activities including spraying and crop yields
* Preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs on farming equipment and machinery
Key requirements for the roles
* Previous experience with fodder crops, hay, silage and grain is essential
* Possess a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail
* Have the ability to work independently and efficiently
* Have excellent communication skills
* Be able to work well with others in a small team
* Be able to live and work remotely
* Have your own vehicle and drivers licence
The client is very flexible and has various accommodation options from singles quarters with meals provided, to a 2 bedroom cottage on farm. Utilities are supplied and there is phone reception and internet available. This is a beautiful part of Australia and has plenty of amazing places to explore and discover.
