Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager Mine Planning, the Superintendent Control Operations will be based at Olympic Dam.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day running of the Control Operations Mine team.
* Provide leadership to the Control Operations Mine team and empower performance of the mine.
* Lead and coach field leadership activities, participate in safety meetings, investigate and manage key safety investigations relevant to the team.
* Positively shape culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values.
* Lead process improvement initiatives to support customer group by leveraging BOS practices.
* Identify and resolve systemic issues, and assess potential impact on production, plant and equipment.
* Interface regularly with Mining Operations and Scheduling to maximize ore to surface and production efficiencies.
* Monitor operating costs to ensure spend remains within the allocated budget.
* Report and investigate any significant deviation from operational plans.
About You
* Understanding and practice of continuous improvement lean principles.
* Demonstrated change leadership experience.
* Ability to navigate ambiguity.
* Experience or familiarity with control rooms or control centres would be beneficial.
