Title: Business Development Executive

Position Overview
As Business Development Executive you'll manage MICE bookings for the resort from sourcing new business, converting leads, being the dedicated liaison between customer and the resort in the sales stage. You will maximise short and long term performance in line with the annual business and strategic sales and marketing revenue plan as well as the assisting the EVT global footprint.

Key Accountabilities
Your day-to-day
Financial
* Actively pursue opportunities to source and convert conference and event leads, and successfully shift business from the competition through active engagement with the customer via face to face or voice conversations.
* Monitor progress towards sales goals and adjusts actions, as necessary.
* Convert and contract business and report monthly on sales activities and conversions against targets.
* Identify trends in movement of market mix, pricing, and competition to target prospects and the right business mix, and develop mitigation plans.
* Implement prevention measures and contingency plans to keep sales results from falling below plan.
* Drive low periods, seasonal and tactical revenue by creating, implementing, and managing targeted sales campaigns.
* Provide creative input to innovative product development, new revenue opportunities and PR opportunities.
* Monitor competitor practices and strategies in order to understand competitor trends and ensure the Hotel product and services are ahead of the competition. If necessary, refine sales strategies accordingly.
* Provide input to Hotel business plan and vision regarding market segment and accounts.
* Pay particular attention to forecast revenue shortfalls and communicate these in a timely fashion to all stakeholders to ensure that action is taken to combat any deficit.
* In conjunction with the Revenue Manager, Meetings & Events Sales Manager and Director of Sales understand the long range forecast of the business and what tactical measures and pricing strategies are required to meet budgeted revenue targets.
Guest Experience
* Drive sales initiatives with site inspections, client entertainment, familiarisations, and other events that form part of the sales and marketing plan.
* Develop and maintain contact with key decision makers, key influencers and other producers closely aligned to each business unit.
* Develop and maintain strong relations with stakeholders whose support, cooperation, and services are critical to the success of sales.
* A focus on looking for upselling resort activities and destination assistance.
* Communicate client requirements and other relevant account / segment information to all relevant departments to ensure their expectations are exceeded.
* Ensure that all stakeholders are made aware of systems, procedures, and information relating to the delivery of all revenue from sales market segments.
* Act as a trusted business advisor and champion by clients; ensure that commitments are met and value is delivered.

* Actively participate in all training sessions and ensure that any pre and post course work is completed.
* Ensure active management of individual GAPs and personal development plan.
* Proactively manage key relationships with General Manager, EVT Revenue, Marketing and Sales, and other areas to ensure alignment driving regular communication.

* Strictly adhere to EVT policy concerning the Trade Practices Act, Gifts & Bribery and Data Privacy.
* Work in conjunction with management in the implementation of WHS related initiatives.
* Actively report workplace hazards, injuries and accidents arising from workplace activities, providing recommendations for corrective actions to prevent or minimise the chance of recurrence.
* Support the EVT Community Engagement program.
* Maintain strong presence in the local community by participating in business / industry organisations / associations and developing a broad external network.
* Update Ivvy following all conversations and meetings with clients.
What we need from you
* Undertaken formal Sales Management training with a minimum 2 years' experience in a sales capacity with a proven track record of success
* Comprehension of Hotel systems and planning and execution principles
* Strong presentation, commercial and communication skills.
* Strong influencer and persuader.
* Flexible work approach.
* Proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relations with clients and stakeholders, with a strong focus on conversion
* Keeps abreast of changes and assesses trends in market conditions and consumer buying behaviour to create strategies that drive business opportunities.
* Strategic and tactical thinker - ability to develop strategic sales plans, establish goals and objectives, set performance targets and deliver projects on time.
