We foster an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and ownership.The Data Center Operations team supports AWS’s rapid growth, maintaining physical infrastructure to meet standards of safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost.We seek a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer with experience in critical facilities management, strong technical understanding (electrical/mechanical), and a drive to elevate our operations. Responsibilities include sustaining availability, managing costs, risk assessment, maintenance review, and metric reporting.Key responsibilities include:Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern.Support routine and emergency maintenance of critical systems such as switch-gear, generators, UPS, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, fire systems, etc.Install new rack capacity and provision power/cooling.Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices, procedures, and legislation.Establish performance benchmarks, analyze data, and prepare reports on infrastructure operations and maintenance; manage assets.Create change management requests and incident tickets for facility events and assist in resolving infrastructure issues.Coordinate with IT managers and business leaders to manage capacity, safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.Lead projects to increase capacity, efficiency, and reliability, including design, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.A typical day might involve:Attending operational meetings across the Melbourne data center region.Mentoring less experienced technicians.Planning and scheduling maintenance activities.Solving complex engineering problems impacting infrastructure.Collaborating with global AWS data centers.About the team and culture:We value diverse experiences and encourage candidates from varied backgrounds to apply.
