This is a part-time role (20–25 hours per week) with flexible working days. About the role Legal Aid has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic office all-rounder to join our team in Bunbury. Working as part of the busy office team, you will spend a large part of your day being the first point of contact with the public and assisting them with accessing help for their legal issues. The role involves screening a high volume of phone calls, emails, and in-person counter enquiries, then matching, and connecting the public to legal services or where appropriate, providing legal information or referrals. You will also undertake a wide range of administrative duties including scheduling appointments, preparing court lists, typing, data entry, receiving Legal Aid Application Forms, liaising with stakeholders within and outside Legal Aid, general office operational duties, and providing administrative support to our lawyers so that they can provide quality and timely legal help to our clients in the criminal, family, and civil law practice areas. About you To be successful in this opportunity, you will: - Have a desire to help our clients - Enjoy working positively with others and be a team player - Have excellent attention to detail, fast and accurate keyboard and computer skills - Be able to communicate well with staff and clients - Feel comfortable assisting people from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life in-person and over the phone (including persons with complex needs, drug and alcohol issues, mental health issues, distressed or agitated due to their legal situations - Be able to follow procedures and organise yourself to meet deadlines - Be able to work under pressure in a quick paced and often demanding environment - Have administration experience - Be keen to learn and share knowledge Previous experience working in a legal setting or similar work environment and other service providers in the community is desirable, but not essential.
