Technical Project Manager (Complex Bespoke Application) Role Overview: This is a high-stakes delivery role for an "old school" Project Manager who thrives on the technical rigors of building from the ground up. This position focuses on leading the entire end-to-end lifecycle of a complex, bespoke application. You will be responsible for securing capital funding through a robust business case and, upon approval, spearheading the delivery team to build and implement this critical, custom technology solution within a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities: End-to-End Bespoke Delivery: Lead the absolute "ground-up" build of a custom core platform, from initial concept through to deployment. Capital Funding: Develop a comprehensive business case to secure necessary funding for this new bespoke initiative. Strategic Planning: Establish rigorous delivery plans, including scheduling, resource planning, budgeting, and aggressive risk mitigation. Technical Leadership: Assemble and lead a cross-functional team, coordinating technical implementation in direct partnership with engineering and architecture teams. Governance & Reporting: Maintain strict project governance, providing transparent financial and milestone reporting to the executive suite. Mandatory Skills and Experience: Bespoke Build Expertise: You must have a proven track record of building complex, bespoke software applications from scratch. Generic COTS implementation experience is not sufficient for this role. "Old School" Delivery Rigor: Extensive experience managing large-scale, technology-heavy initiatives with a focus on disciplined, end-to-end execution. Regulated Environments: Proven background operating within highly regulated industries where compliance is non-negotiable. Technical Literacy: A deep, fundamental understanding of the IT project lifecycle and the nuances of custom software engineering. Stakeholder Influence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage complex expectations at the executive level. Personal Attributes: Commercially astute and strictly outcome-focused. Highly accountable with a "no-excuses" approach to delivery. Ability to influence and collaborate across diverse organizational boundaries. Proactive and solution-oriented in high-pressure environments.
