The successful candidate will have a proven track record in estimating major commercial construction projects, with a strong understanding of contracts, procurement processes, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare Accurate Cost Estimates: The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and detailed tender submissions for electrical and communications projects.
* Coordinate Multi-Disciplinary Tenders: The Estimator will coordinate multi-disciplinary tenders including Electrical, ICT, and High Voltage systems.
* Review Project Specifications: The Estimator will review project specifications and contract documentation to guide tender strategy.
* Present Tenders: The Estimator will present tenders confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.
* Mentor Junior Estimators: The Estimator will mentor and support junior estimators to build team capability.
* Manage Deadlines: The Estimator will manage deadlines and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 Years' Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical/comms estimating within commercial construction is required.
* Proven Track Record: A proven track record in estimating major electrical, communications, and HV projects is essential.
* Strong Understanding: A strong understanding of contracts, procurement processes, and project delivery is required.
* Budget Management: Ability to manage budgets and produce detailed financial reports is necessary.
* High-Level Competency: High-level competency in interpreting multidisciplinary drawings, specs, and technical documentation is required.
* Australian Standards: In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards, National Construction Code, and sustainable building practices is essential.
* Value Engineering: Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering is necessary.
* Qualifications: Qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management (highly regarded).
* Communication Skills: Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills are required.
