ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function across a fast-growing group operating in manufacturing, logistics/fulfilment, and payments.
We are currently in the startup phase with strong foundations in place and entering a period of rapid growth. This role is critical in helping us scale and build a best-in-class finance function from the ground up.
This is a hands-on role, particularly in the early stages, where you will be involved in all aspects of finance before transitioning into a strategic leadership position as the business grows.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Hands-on Finance Operations (Initial Phase):
* Manage accounts payable and receivable (AP/AR)
* Oversee invoicing, collections, and reconciliations
* Process and manage tax receipts and support BAS preparation
* Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities
Financial Control & Reporting:
* Own month-end close and general ledger integrity
* Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs
* Deliver clear insights to support decision-making
Cashflow & Forecasting:
* Build and manage cashflow forecasts and budgets
* Support working capital management and growth planning
Partner with leadership on:
* Pricing and margin analysis
* Business performance
* Growth initiatives
Systems & Process Improvement:
* Implement and improve accounting systems (e.g. Xero)
* Drive automation and scalable finance processes
Compliance & Governance:
* Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax obligations
* Support audit readiness as the business grows
Team & Function Build-Out:
* Help build the finance function from the ground up
* Support hiring and development of future finance team members
ABOUT YOU
* Degree in Accounting or Finance
* CPA/CA qualified (or near completion)
* 5–10+ years' experience in Financial control/Management accounting / FP&A
* Experience in a multi-entity or fast-growing environment preferred
Skills & Attributes
* Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
* Comfortable being hands-on across all areas of finance
