Roles and Responsibilities

Position Brief — WMS Applications Support Analyst

Role Purpose

This role provides first and second-level application support for Manhattan WMi 2016, the warehouse management system. The analyst will triage and resolve incidents, execute standard requests and changes within defined runbooks, and maintain system stability across DC sites. The role sits within the Technology Supply Chain team and operates under the WMS Lead. It requires strong IBM i (AS/400) platform knowledge alongside hands‐on WMi application experience.

Key Accountabilities

* Respond to WMi application incidents within defined SLA targets (P1/P2/P3), performing initial triage, resolution, or structured escalation
* Execute pre‐approved standard requests to WMi configuration — including user access, location management, transporter setup, and document rules — using approved runbooks
* Manage user access provisioning and security role maintenance across all DC sites
* Maintain accurate records in ServiceNow; contribute to knowledge articles and runbook development
* Support warehouse users and operations teams with application queries; distinguish system faults from process or operator issues
* Participate in P1/P2 bridge calls and contribute to post‐incident root cause analysis documentation
* Coordinate standard change scheduling with site operations teams, respecting change freeze and blackout periods
* Lodge and support management of cases with Manhattan Associates, providing technical detail to accelerate resolution
* Monitor application interfaces, bridges and queues
* Monitor CIF queues between SAP ECC & SCM
* Identify & resolve interface failures, ensuring seamless data flow across systems (SAP, WMi & WCS)
* Monitor SOH mismatches between SAP & WMi to ensure stock integrity, working with the 7 sites for investigation, root cause analysis & resolution

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

* IBM i navigation & green screen 5250 terminal emulations; command line navigation, job and spool file management — Essential
* IBM i user profile management: create, modify, disable user profiles; manage object authorities and special authorities — Essential
* IBM i job & subsystem monitoring: monitor active jobs, message queues, and subsystem status to diagnose application errors — Essential
* IBM i output queues & spool files: manage print output, diagnose spool file failures relevant to WMS label and document printing — Preferred
* IBM i performance & storage basics: identify disk, memory, and job resource issues; elevate to infrastructure team with appropriate detail — Advantageous
* Manhattan WMi 2016 — Application Support: WMi application navigation & modules (Inbound, outbound, inventory, and system administration modules; menu structure and transaction screens) — Essential
* WMi incident triage & error resolution: read and interpret WMi application logs and IBM i job logs to identify root cause and resolve or elevate — Essential
* WMi user access & security roles: manage WMi user accounts, role assignments, and access profiles across multiple DC sites — Essential
* WMi standard request execution: execute pre‐approved configuration changes including location setup, carrier config, and document rules within defined runbooks — Essential
* Wave management & release rules: understand wave configuration, release criteria, and wave error states; triage and release stuck waves — Essential
* Inventory adjustments & cycle counts: process inventory adjustments, confirm cycle count results, and investigate discrepancy transactions — Essential
* Label & document configuration: diagnose label print failures; understand ZPL basics — Preferred
* Slotting & location management: awareness of location attributes and slotting configuration; able to action standard location changes — Essential
* Carrier & shipping configuration: carrier profile setup and manifesting process; diagnose outbound shipping errors — Preferred
* WMi system config: understand system‐level parameters; able to identify parameter impact during incident investigation — Essential
* Data SQL concepts: understand and knowledge on writing and reading SQL for data extraction from Manhattan — Essential
