Service Crew – Underground Operator
MMG Limited currently has an exciting opportunity for an Underground Operator – Service Crew at our Rosebery operation in Tasmania. This position reports to the applicable Shift Supervisor and the accountabilities will include specific tasks related to your area of operation.
This position is offered on 7 Days on 7 Days off Day Shift on a DIDO basis.
Duties
* Displaying an unwavering commitment to safe work practices
* Following shift plan instructions as directed by your supervisor
* Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
* Installation of all mine services including but not limited to mine ventilation and reticulation systems
* Reporting of all incidents and hazards to your Shift Supervisor immediately
* Real time communication with Mine Control of all physical measures and delays
* Completion and submission of all required shift reports and documentation to the Shift Supervisor
* Conducting a thorough, timely and informative end of shift handover with your cross shift
* Attend and actively participate in all required site and MMG training courses and meetings
* Ensure that all assigned vehicles are operated in a safe and clean condition at all times
* Using all provided equipment safety and within its design capability and purpose
* Carrying out effective high quality workplace inspections
* Ensuring correct signage (warning/hazards) are used and maintained at all times according to site standards and procedures.
About You
* Minimum of 3 Years' experience in underground mining, with a strong emphasis in a mechanised underground mining operation techniques and experience on the equipment
* Experience with working in production and development crews or operating in this environment
* Extensive knowledge of safe work practices and techniques applied in underground mining.
* You will be able to demonstrate strong problem solving skills within a team environment.
* Ability to communicate clearly and conduct detailed handovers with supervisors, cross shift and other relevant departments.
* Basic understanding of mining targets & priority projects to ensure targets are met, you will be expected to work both alone and in a team environment with Safety and the wellbeing of others your number one priority.
* A willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Medical and D&A Screen and Background checks.
* Extensive knowledge off underground mining equipment and techniques.
* A manual C Class driver's license.
* First aid certificate – desirable.
