Gender Equity Specialist
\
This position plays a pivotal role in driving organisational change and promoting gender equality within our community. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of strategies to prevent family violence and promote positive attitudes, behaviour and culture change at all levels.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

1. Developing and implementing a whole-of-council approach to preventing family violence and promoting gender equity
\
2. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to embed a gender lens and intersectional approach across all areas of service delivery
\
3. Maintaining and developing knowledge of best practice in gender equity and primary prevention initiatives
\
4. Providing advice and guidance to staff on gender equity and inclusion matters
\
5. Building relationships with key stakeholders to promote gender equity and prevent family violence
\
6. Overseeing the Municipal Health & Wellbeing Plan and ensuring alignment with gender equity goals
\
7. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and services related to gender equity and family violence prevention
\
8. Staying up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies and research in the field of gender equity and primary prevention
\
9. Leading and contributing to workplace discussions and decision-making on gender equity and inclusion matters
\
10. Providing education and training to staff on gender equity and inclusion issues
