Key Responsibilities of a Configuration Management Specialist
The primary objective of the Configuration Management Specialist is to oversee the effective management of engineering data, documentation and technical media within the Air Traffic Management (ATM) Program.
This involves ensuring that CM processes align with the Saab Global Management System and coordinating the management of engineering data. Additionally, supporting Engineering Review Boards and Change Control Boards is crucial to this role.
Creating and maintaining system and product breakdown structures for the Air Traffic Management System and sites is another critical task. This requires consultation with engineering stakeholders and close coordination with project teams.
Preparation and issuance of Configuration Status Account Reports (CSARs) are essential tasks that must be carried out in accordance with CM plans and procedures.
Managing the distribution of controlled project data, documentation and media, filing, indexing and retrieving records in support of ATM program requirements are all important aspects of this role.
* 5+ years defence or air traffic management industry experience in project-based team or product engineering management environment
* Industry recognised configuration and data management training or equivalent professional experience
* Exposure to the ASDEFCON suite of templates and contracting framework
* Understanding of the Configuration Management Standard EIA649C
* Stakeholder management
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Specialist configuration management tools and/or engineering data management systems
* IFS Applications Enterprise Solutions
* Implementing PLM strategies
* Training users of configuration management tools and/or Engineering data management systems
* Administration of information using MS SharePoint or other document management system(s)
