About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Blaster/Painter with a strong background in Production to join our team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be part of the tradespeople team to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes. Employment Type: Full Time-Permanent Salary: $76,515.00 to $80,000.00
Responsibilities
* Prepare, clean, and strip metal surfaces through abrasive blasting
* Operate blasting equipment to remove rust, paint, and other contaminants for optimal coating adhesion
* Operate and maintain abrasive blasting equipment
* Mix and match paints and coatings according to specifications
* Apply industrial coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment, rollers, and brushes
* Inspect surfaces for defects and ensure a smooth, even finish
* Operate and maintain painting equipment safely
* Follow workplace safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and ventilation
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience in industrial painting or a similar role
* Knowledge of different painting techniques, coatings, and equipment
* Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces
* Ability to set up, use and maintain abrasive blast and spray equipment
* Minimum 2 years' experience in painting and blasting, ideally within the structural steel or heavy equipment industry
* Strong knowledge of surface preparation and coating techniques, including abrasive blasting and industrial-grade paint application
* Solid understanding of painting materials, blasting processes, and surface treatment methods
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes
* Demonstrated experience in airless and conventional spray painting
* Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
