Our organisation is seeking a talented Infrastructure Engineer to lead the delivery of infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering work meets the required standards, and that infrastructure is delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Establish and maintain technical specifications, procedures and guidelines.
2. Review and approve engineering designs, calculations and models.
3. Monitor project designs and construction to verify compliance with established standards.
4. Conduct regular design and engineering reviews to assess adherence to best practices.
5. Provide technical support for resolving non-conformance issues.
6. Act as the go-to expert for complex engineering challenges within the discipline.
7. Provide technical guidance during design, construction and commissioning.
8. Support decision-making processes by offering expertise on engineering methodologies.
9. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
10. Collaborate with project managers, designers and contractors to ensure the project's technical integrity.
11. Assist in risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to engineering aspects.
12. Participate in technical evaluations of vendors, materials and equipment.
13. Ensure that the design and construction align with the relevant standards and codes.
14. Champion the application of engineering Safety in Design to ensure operational and maintenance requirements are achieved.
15. Support value management activity to maximise the benefit to operations.
16. Establish an engineering assurance function for the shipbuilder.
As a qualified engineer, you will have significant demonstrable Mechanical engineering experience, ideally experience in building infrastructure, mechanical services including craneage. You will also hold a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant Mechanical engineering discipline, and eligibility for accreditation as a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as well as Defence Security clearance or eligibility to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance & ITAR clearance.
