Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who run the projects that build the cloud. Our projects deliver the initial strategy, Data Centre design, construction, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of planners, engineers, designers, supply‐chain specialists, Construction Managers, security experts, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Technical Programme Manager, you will lead cross‐functional and technical teams to deliver data centre capacity and manage projects from strategy, conceptual design feasibility, requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment. You will interact with customers, partners and suppliers to understand business goals and priorities, execute rapidly, and deliver high‐quality results. You will manage remote project delivery teams, facilitate technical sessions, troubleshoot issues, and remove barriers to project success.
The TPM will build cross‐functional matrix‐based teams, establish trust with stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate unnecessary activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery. Key skills include stakeholder influence without authority, analytical talent, negotiation, and leadership in fast‐paced environments.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience.
* Experience leading technical initiatives involving data centre design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
* Strong communicator (written and verbal).
* Proficient in project management tools, methodologies, and techniques across all phases: scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, risk management, reporting, and metric development/tracking.
* Experience managing capital budgets and multiple projects with competing priorities.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project, and SharePoint.
* Ability to review technical and ambiguous problems, convey options, and lead teams to decide and deliver.
* Knowledge of the Australian Data Centre market (preferred).
