With a brand-new, state-of-the-art racetrack currently under construction and racing set to resume in mid‑2026, we are now seeking an experienced and motivated Track & Facilities Manager to lead our track preparation, maintenance and facility operations.

About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Track & Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance, preparation and presentation of the entire Cranbourne racing precinct, including:
* Racing and trialling track surface
* Lure system, starting boxes, fencing and track infrastructure
* Grounds, gardens, buildings and carparks
* Kennel block, judges' tower and associated facilities
* Club machinery, vehicles and equipment
You'll lead a small team of track and facility staff, oversee contractors, and work closely with GRV's Track Maintenance & Infrastructure teams to ensure the track meets GRV's safety and performance standards.
This role requires flexibility across early mornings, afternoons/evenings and weekends to support race meetings and trial schedules.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a safe, consistent racing and trialling surface in line with GRV standards
* Lead the daily preparation, maintenance and presentation of track and facilities
* Manage track infrastructure including lure system, boxes, rail and fencing
* Oversee preventive maintenance programs across buildings and grounds
* Operate and maintain tractors, water carts and mechanical equipment
* Supervise, train and roster staff and race day casuals
* Engage and coordinate contractors and service providers
* Ensure full compliance with safety, welfare and Club/GRV standards
* Contribute to operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You're a hands‑on, proactive leader with strong maintenance, grounds or track experience, ideally within racing, turf or sports facility environments. You take pride in presenting high‑quality venues and understand the importance of safety, welfare and consistent track conditions.
This position requires Australian citizenship for eligibility.
You will bring:
* Experience in track, turf, grounds or facility maintenance
* Mechanical, electrical, plumbing or general maintenance/DIY skills desirable, but not essential
* Proven leadership experience coordinating small teams
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to operate tractors, machinery and track equipment
* A collaborative, team‑focused approach
* A current Victorian Driver's Licence
* Experience in the racing industry or a Certificate III in Racing Services (Track Maintenance) will be highly regarded but is not essential
