As an Assistant Watchhouse Officer at Hervey Bay Police Station, you will provide basic level security, administrative and logistical services in the supervision and control of persons in custody at the Watchhouse.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administer and supervise the Watchhouse, ensuring the safety and security of individuals in custody and visitors.
2. Maintain accurate prisoner files and records, adhering to QPS policy and procedure.
3. Operate and monitor electronic surveillance systems, following established procedures.
4. Manage Watchhouse records in accordance with QPS guidelines.
5. Assist in processing persons received into custody, adhering to QPS policy and procedures.
6. Supervise and ensure the welfare, comfort, and security of prisoners.
7. Monitor and record prisoners' health requirements, arranging medical assistance as needed.
8. Collaborate with senior staff to manage operational issues impacting the Watchhouse.
Role Requirements
Mandatory
1. Possess a current Open C Class Driver's Licence.

1. This position requires wearing an Assistant Watchhouse Officer uniform and adhering to the QPS Code of Dress and Appearance.
2. This role involves working a 24-hour, 7-day rotational roster.
