We are seeking a skilled and proactive
Systems Administrator
to join our IT team. This role is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our systems and networks, while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across all infrastructure components.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain system architecture, servers, and network infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability.
Manage and monitor system performance, implementing proactive maintenance and performance tuning.
Perform regular system backups, recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with security and integrity controls.
Administer and maintain operational documentation, policies, and procedures for systems and networks.
Test and implement system upgrades, patches, and configurations, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
Take ownership of system security, access controls, and disaster recovery planning.
Liaise with vendors, service providers, and external partners to manage software and hardware solutions, ensuring performance and service-level compliance.
Troubleshoot and provide technical support for server, network, and workstation-related issues.
Maintain detailed system documentation, logs, and standard operating procedures.
Assess current infrastructure and provide recommendations for improvements and future scalability.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a
Systems Administrator
,
Network Administrator
, or similar IT infrastructure role.
Strong knowledge of
Windows Server environments
,
Active Directory
, and
virtualisation technologies
(e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience managing
network equipment
,
firewalls
, and
security tools
.
Familiarity with
backup/recovery systems
and
disaster recovery planning
.
Understanding of
database maintenance and data integrity
as part of overall system administration.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong documentation, organisational, and communication abilities.
Troubleshoot and maintain Retail Diagnostic Systems.
At least 2 years experience in this role.
