Join our dedicated team at Cessnock District Hospital as a Visiting Medical Officer in General Practice (GP VMO) and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care to a growing and vibrant regional community.
Your Role
As a GP VMO, you will:
* Provide expert inpatient and emergency department services, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.
* Conduct outpatient consultations and procedures in your private practice.
* Participate in after-hours and on‐call rosters to support 24/7 emergency care.
* Manage acute medical emergencies including myocardial infarction, pulmonary oedema, and diabetic ketoacidosis.
* Access specialist support through the Hunter New England Local Health District's extensive clinical network.
* Contribute to medico-legal and insurance reporting as required.
* Enjoy the flexibility to maintain a general practice alongside your hospital commitments.
What We're Looking For
* A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA.
