We are seeking a skilled Water Design Engineer to join a Tier 1 mining company and support the delivery of water infrastructure projects across multiple mine sites. This Perth-based role (Monday-Friday) may involve occasional site travel and is ideal for someone who enjoys technical design, cross-discipline collaboration, and contributing to large-scale resource projects. About the Role As part of the projects team, you will take a lead role in developing detailed design deliverables for critical water systems, including pipelines, borefields, pump stations, ponds, and tanks. You will be responsible for ensuring designs meet Australian standards, project requirements, and regulatory expectations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, cost, and schedule compliance. Key Responsibilities Undertake hydraulic modelling and detailed design of mine water systems Prepare and compile technical deliverables including construction drawings, estimates, and scopes of work Facilitate project design reviews, including field inspections and stakeholder engagement Develop final engineering deliverables such as pipeline schematics, GA's, P&ID's, and equipment specifications Provide input to capital estimates and material take-offs Support operational readiness planning and provide construction support through technical queries Review vendor proposals for technical and budget compliance Communicate clearly on design progress, risks, and changes while collaborating effectively with other disciplines Skills & Experience Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Chemical Engineering, or Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia 3-5 years' experience in mechanical piping and pipeline design, ideally in mining or consultancy settings Previous experience in mine dewatering (advantageous) Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with Australian and international standards in mining and water infrastructure Proficiency in design software and tools (Visio essential; ArcGIS advantageous) Proven ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines, and deliver on budget Full Australian work rights required Why Join This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-profile water infrastructure projects with a Tier 1 mining company.
