About this Role
Based in Brisbane, and reporting to the Head of Domestic Sales, the Business Development Manager is responsible for the promotion and sale of Yumbah's premium range of abalone, oysters, mussels and kingfish across Queensland, with a key focus on large food service accounts, restaurants and wholesalers.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' sales experience, ideally within the aquaculture, foodservice, or FMCG sectors, a passion for premium seafood products, and an ambition to join an industry leader consistently delivering award winning seafood products around the globe.
This opportunity will suit a highly energetic Sales Professional who can provide effective execution, leadership, strategic thinking and planning to the company's national sales group.
The role is home-office based, with quarterly intrastate travel required to develop new markets, and some activations may be outside of regular hours.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote and sell Yumbah's premium range of abalone, oysters, mussels and kingfish with a key focus on large food service accounts, restaurant groups and wholesalers.
* Manage key customer relationships within the state, including the development and delivery of joint business plans with top-tier partners.
* Drive new business acquisition across all relevant channels.
* Work closely with the broader Sales and Marketing team to understand the sales strategy to drive growth through local distributors and direct-to-market channels.
* Grow existing customer accounts by expanding product distribution and identifying opportunities to deepen product range and volume sold.
* Deliver on revenue and volume targets.
* Actively contribute to demand planning and supply through accurate forecasting.
* Lead work related team meetings and activities as required.
* Adhere to WH&S policies and procedures and propose solutions as issues arise.
Qualifications/ Experiences
* Minimum 5 years' sales experience, ideally within aquaculture, foodservice, or FMCG sectors.
* Proven ability and passion for generating new business opportunities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a structured approach to planning.
* Results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
