The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Quality Systems Specialist to be part of our Quality Functional Excellence team. In this role you will report to the Manager - Functional Excellence & Audit and Assurance. You will be an integral part of the Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) Quality Team. This role will provide critical input and leadership to support completion of key Quality Management System (QMS) projects with continuous improvement initiatives as well as support maintenance of BDA's QMS. It will be instrumental in helping ensure the organisation and Quality, as a function, meets its role in supporting and enabling BDA's QMS.
**Responsibilities**:
- Support QMS projects and initiatives aligned to the Business and Function strategic plans and objectives to deliver continuous improvement of the QMS.
- Lead and drive a culture First Time Quality (FTQ) and continuous improvement across BDA.
- Effective management of changes to the documented QMS to achieve and maintain compliance with all relevant requirements; including chairing our Quality Change Control Board.
- Perform and support audits to determine compliance with QMS standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements and report results to management.
- Prepare and maintain Quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure all compliance requirements and working agreements are effectively deployed. This includes writing project communication and training for the business at critical project timeline/s.
- Support QMS promotion, including development and delivery of content and process to support education of key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively and manage relationships within the Quality Team and key stakeholders to influence decisions as they relate to the QMS to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
Experience/Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years' experience with QMS, tertiary level business or equivalent qualification and/or commensurate level of professional knowledge and experience
- Strong knowledge of Quality standards and industry regulations, including ISO 9001, AS 9100 and AS 9110 and Defence Aviation Safety Regulations
- Desired familiarity with building SharePoint sites and utilising similar programs; includes implementation and ongoing support of software tools
- Exposure and experience in leading internal change management projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Positive engagement, hands-on mentality, can do attitude, work under mínimal supervision with the ability to proactively and independently resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to supporting and positively promoting organisational change processes
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively engage, communicate with and influence key stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in document writing with professional oral and written communication skills. This includes being comfortable with administration support for project/s.
- Be an Australian Citizenship to ensure you have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Department of Defence clearance up to SECRET level.
- This is a hybrid role with a mix of virtual/remote working and office based
- Completed ISO 9001 auditor training by a recognised training organisation
