Maintenance Technician Job Description


The role of Maintenance Technician involves completing routine and preventative maintenance tasks around the hotel to ensure total guest satisfaction. This includes painting, minor repairs, carpentry, plumbing, and pool maintenance while adhering to health and safety regulations.


Responsibilities include working Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 7:00pm, responding promptly and professionally to guest requests and maintenance issues that impact the guest experience. Regular preventative inspections of equipment and facilities are also required, along with managing requests via a designated system to ensure compliance and safety.


Additional responsibilities include reporting workplace hazards and adhering to workplace health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Handling guest complaints in a timely and professional manner is also essential, striving for guest satisfaction and notifying management of serious complaints and actions taken to resolve them.


Requirements for this role include being available to work Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 7:00pm, having at least 2 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably within the hospitality industry or building services. The ability to lift, push, and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) is also necessary, which can involve bending and kneeling.


Key Skills and Qualifications:



* Strong communication skills, including being warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to during guest interactions

* Problem-solving skills that turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories

* Literate skills, including good reading, writing, and basic math abilities

* Technical savvy, including proficiency in email, computers, handheld devices, key cutting systems, and service request apps
