Administration Officer
Moranbah & District Support Services (MDSS) is a community service organisation providing vital support services to the Isaac Region. Our services include family and mental health counselling, domestic violence support, community education, and an engaging neighbourhood centre program. Our outreach encompasses Moranbah, Glenden, Clermont, Coppabella, Dysart, Middlemount, and Nebo communities.
The Administration Officer role is a full time (76 hours per fortnight) position based in the Moranbah Youth and Community Centre (MYCC), Appleton Street, Moranbah.
MDSS use the SCHADs Award and pays based on the experience and qualifications of the applicant.
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced administration officer with a passion for supporting their local community. In the role it is expected that you will
* Be the welcoming face at our reception, answering phones and directing calls to the appropriate area.
* Have knowledge of the services MDSS provides and assist clients with the appropriate information on the services they require.
* Assist with all administrative functions including the provision of secretarial support, whilst exercising sound judgement, maintaining confidentiality, and sensitivity.
* Attend to both inward and outward correspondence, preparation of reports, and other assigned documentation.
* Assist with finance operations including the receipt and input of bills and raising invoices. Experience in MYOB will be highly regarded.
* Manage MYCC room hire bookings.
* Assist the Neighbourhood Centre Program Officer with events or programs as required.
* Maintain office amenities and supplies.
* Manage MDSS' social media accounts and website.
* Other administrative tasks as directed by the MDSS Leadership Team.
Qualities of the MDSS Administration Officer
To excel in this role, the successful applicant will have a friendly, community-focussed attitude while being able to work autonomously and as part of a team. They will possess high-level communication and time management skills and have a commitment to client confidentiality.
This position requires data collection and presentation of verbal and written reports on all aspects of service delivery to the MDSS Service Manager. You will have excellent communication skills, and attention to detail in the preparation of reports.
You are computer literate with experience in the management of social media applications and the creation of marketing materials for events by MDSS or held at the MYCC and the greater community.
Qualifications in Administration, Finance, Events Management or Community services is desirable, demonstrated experience in any of these fields is required as a minimum.
As MDSS works with vulnerable people and children, it is a prerequisite that all staff must hold or be eligible for a working with Children – Blue Card.
A valid open Qld Drivers License is required and a Current First Aid Certificate would be beneficial.
Remuneration
MDSS offers an attractive hourly rate with the ability to salary sacrifice and increase your take-home pay. The flexibility of transitioning to a 9-day fortnight may also be available.
