About the role
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse to join our Aged Care team. Selectability, a reputable aged care provider supporting the Lower Gulf of North Queensland, is expanding its services to the community of Aurukun, located in the Cape York Peninsula.
As a registered nurse, you will play a vital role in the lives of older persons by providing quality, responsive, and compassionate care. You will work closely with the Regional Manager Aurukun, aged care workers, and support staff to deliver person-centred, high-quality care tailored to the needs of the older persons.

We offer a 6-week onsite, 2-week offsite roster with known leave dates, allowing you to plan your life around work. We prioritize fatigue management to ensure you have ample time to rest and recharge. 1. possess strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments
2. communicate confidently and professionally with all levels of staff
3. have exceptional time management skills and attention to detail
4. be able to follow policies and procedures at all times
5. be sensitive and adaptable to older persons' different personalities, cultural backgrounds, and personal circumstances
* and most importantly, maintain a positive attitude
You will also need:
* APHRA registration to practice as a registered nurse in Australia
* previous aged care experience (highly desirable)
* experience working in remote areas (desirable)
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
* a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's license
* current flu vaccination (recommended)
* COVID vaccination (recommended)
* first aid and CPR certification (or the ability to obtain)
* easy access to a major airport in Cairns, Townsville, or Brisbane
