ASIC's Cyber Security team is seeking a talented Cyber Security Architect (Identity) to join their collaborative and high performing team.

* Salary from $131,752 to $144,386 (depending on experience) + 15.4 % superannuation

The team
The Cyber Security team provides a wide range of services including security architecture & design, incident response and cyber assurance for ASIC. We make use of the latest security technology with an increasing focus on automation and analytics to secure and support ASIC on its journey to be a 'best in class regulator supporting the Australian financial markets.
The role
As a Cyber Security Architect (Identity), you will be responsible for delivering secure identity solutions through the design, implementation, and integration of security services that enable and support business operations. In addition, you will also collaborate with other architecture teams and contribute to broader cybersecurity initiatives and programs.
More specifically, you will:
* Serve as a customer-facing security architect, leading technical design and assessment engagements with solution architects, developers and key stakeholders.
* Design and oversee the implementation of security controls for Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of security controls to identify capability gaps, vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors.
* Collaborate with solution architects to strengthen security across existing platforms, services and solutions.
* Conduct and coordinate threat modelling and architecture reviews to validate the completeness of security controls.
* Support Cyber Security Team Leads in enhancing security tools, processes, culture and service delivery.
About you
The ideal candidate for the Cyber Security Architect (Identity) role is an emerging or mid-level cybersecurity or engineering professional with a strong development background and practical experience in identity and access management. They will have hands-on expertise in delivering technical solutions and show a clear aspiration to grow into a strategic architectural position.
In addition, you will have:
* Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in cybersecurity, with demonstrated experience as an architect specialising in identity solutions.
* Implementing enterprise-scale IDM/IAM solutions (e.g., SailPoint, Entra ID, Silverfort).
* Designing and overseeing secure identity solutions aligned with ASIC security architecture standards.
* Applying cloud-native authentication and authorisation mechanisms, including MFA and SSO, with deep knowledge of IAM architectures.
* Developing and maintaining standards and procedures to safeguard internal and external identity environments.
* Leveraging industry frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, ACSC ISM, ASD Essential Eight) to design secure solutions.
* Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new security technologies and market trends.
* Demonstrated ability to assess, analyse, and resolve complex stakeholder queries using data, systems and reporting tools.
* Effective communicator, capable of presenting to both project teams and senior stakeholders.
* Formal security certifications are desirable, but not essential.
