Rates
* Qualified Plumbers - $40 to $48 / hour full time + super.
* Subcontractors – to be discussed directly with shortlisted respondents.
* Water Meter Technicians – $28 to $36 / hour full time + super.
* Plumbing Labourers – $27 to $33 / hour full time + super.
The Opportunity
We are seeking Qualified Plumbers, Plumbing subcontractors and Water Meter Technicians/Labourers to support the delivery of water metering projects across Tasmania.
These roles are critical to the installation and replacement of water meters and associated fittings, as well as supporting the rollout of digital metering devices. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate data collection, high-quality workmanship and positive customer outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, replace, and maintain water meters, meter tails, and associated fittings
* Assist with digital metering device installations
* Conduct meter readings and ensure accurate data capture
* Restore worksites to required standards following installation
* Provide support with warehouse tasks and materials handling as required
* Deliver high-quality customer interactions onsite
* Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in plumbing, civil, or utilities (water metering highly regarded)
* Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Physically fit and capable of manual labour, including lifting and digging
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Contractor Requirements
* Contractor Licence, ABN & GST registration
* Public Liability Insurance

* Strong communicator with good customer service skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Well organised with the ability to meet deadlines
* Comfortable working on residential properties, including where animals may be present
* Holds a current and valid driver's licence
