Our organization seeks a skilled Paralegal to support its teams of solicitors. Reporting to the State Child Protection Litigation Coordinator, you will perform file and record management tasks, coordinate court listings and case allocations, brief barristers, and assist with legal correspondence.
Responsibilities:1. Assist solicitors in managing child protection litigation, including drafting forms, documents, and correspondence for litigation purposes.
2. Brief counsel appropriately in matters before the Children's Court, Family Court, and other jurisdictions as required.
3. Allocate cases on the daily court list and perform administrative tasks associated with accurate file and recording management.
4. Undertake court file searches, attend to court filing, and conduct basic legal research using online systems as needed.
5. Maintain accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental policies.
6. Collaborate with paralegals and solicitors across the CPLO to ensure the objectives of the Statewide Child Protection Litigation Office are met.This role operates at value range 2, requiring increasing involvement in providing guidance to others, identifying system improvements, and undertaking more complex tasks under direction.
