Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team at Design and Build. As an HSE Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a high standard of safety and well-being for our employees, while also promoting a culture of growth and innovation within the organization.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective controls.
* Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to all levels of the organization, promoting best practices and awareness.
* Facilitate safety training programs and toolbox talks to enhance employee awareness and competence.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
* Collaborate with site managers and supervisors to develop and monitor safety performance indicators, fostering a proactive safety culture.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety activities, incidents, and compliance requirements.
* Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging best practices, recommending appropriate changes to existing safety protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A minimum of 18 months of experience in a similar role within the Civil Construction industry.
* Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field (e.g., Cert IV in Work Health and Safety).
* Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
* Proven track record of conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
* Familiarity with Western Australia General and Mining regulations and industry-specific hazards is an advantage.
* Ability to work on a roster, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments.
* Cert IV Training & Assessing (Highly Desirable).
