EPIC ESSENTIALS Epic is currently seeking a talented Principal Water Quality Specialist (marine and freshwater) to join our Brisbane office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a market-facing consultant who is looking to elevate their career to the next level.
As a Principal Water Quality Specialist, you will leverage your industry-leading profile and reputation to complement Epic's established standing in the environmental sector. You will play a pivotal role in attracting and mentoring like-minded professionals, building and developing an industry-leading water services team. You'll work on high-impact projects across our diverse client base while also having the opportunity to shape the direction of water services within the company.
This position offers excellent variety of work and in the role you will:
Continue to build and develop the existing Strategic Water Services team and mentor junior team members Undertake the planning and implementation of field-based data collection in line with State, Territory and Commonwealth regulatory requirements Develop strategies to grow Epic's client base and share of the market Win and lead the delivery of a range of projects across multiple sectors Prepare written technical reports that are science-based and will stand up to community and regulatory scrutiny Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders Liaise with service providers and subcontractors for the purposes of service delivery Work as part of a project team to deliver projects to scope and within time, cost and quality requirements Participate in strategy and innovation within the company to foster continued improvement. WHAT YOU WILL BRING To be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following:
Tertiary qualifications, from a recognised institution, in an environmental science related discipline, or similar relevant degree A minimum of 15 years' experience in an environmental consulting role or similar, preferably operating in Australia Proven ability to attract, mentor, and develop a high-calibre water services team Ability to build relationships, manage projects, and contribute to business development activities Strong experience and understanding of marine and aquatic environments including water and sediment quality sampling techniques, data collection and interpretation Experience with the maintenance and deployment of real-time telemetered monitoring equipment Strong understanding of the statutory frameworks, policies and science-based approaches that govern water management Proven experience with preparing winning proposals for small to large scale projects Proven experience with client engagement and management Demonstrated leadership skills with a passion for training and mentoring junior staff A current driver's license and ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles A commercial boat licence (e.g. Coxswain NC3) is desirable but not essential Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cohesive team and take ownership of projects, ensuring they are delivered successfully OUR VALUES & EPIC PERKS We believe that our staff are one of our greatest assets, and we ensure that our staff are fully supported in their role; are challenged to provide innovative outcomes for clients and the environment; and that they are provided with opportunities for professional development.
