Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Lawyer role based in Brisbane City, QLD. The Lawyer will manage a caseload of Wills and Estates matters, including drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney and other estate planning document; advising on estate planning; preparing court documents for probate, letters of administration and estate disputes. Day-to-day work will include representing clients in estate litigation matters (such as making or defending claims against estates), overseeing estate administration and estate planning matters. The role involves conducting legal research, reviewing evidence, preparing correspondence and advice, and attending client meetings, conferences, and court appearances as required. The Lawyer will collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure matters progress efficiently while delivering clear, client-centered advice.
Qualifications
* Must be admitted as a lawyer in Queensland and hold a current practising certificate.
* Demonstrated experience in Wills and Estates law, including estate planning, probate and estate administration.
* Experience or exposure to estate litigation is an advantage.
* Strong legal research, drafting, and written communication skills for preparing advice, pleadings, affidavits, and other court documents.
* Effective client communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide clear, empathetic, and practical advice on sensitive matters.
* Solid organisational and file management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities in a busy practice.
* High standard of attention to detail.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team environment, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
* High ethical standards, professional integrity, and a commitment to client service and confidentiality.
* Proficiency with legal practice management software, document management systems, and standard office applications.
