Your New Role
Tradelink Cairns - Anderson Street is seeking a dedicated and driven Assistant Manager to support its continued success in the plumbing wholesale market. We're looking for someone with strong people skills, a hands-on approach to leadership, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. In this key support role, you'll help drive operational efficiency, build lasting relationships with our trade customers, and contribute to the growth and performance of the branch.
This is a full-time role based in Cairns, QLD - Immediate start available.
Your Responsibilities
Assist with counter sales, order processing, packing, and dispatch to ensure smooth daily operations.
Support team training, safety practices, and development initiatives to foster a high-performing branch environment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and trade contractors to drive service excellence.
Maintain branch systems and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
Accurately process financial transactions, including cash handling, to support branch integrity.
Contribute to the achievement of sales targets and profitability by supporting local growth initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed:
Ideally, you will have strong product knowledge in the plumbing wholesale industry. Experience in plumbing or trade distribution will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated experience in a management or leadership role.
A current drivers licence is required, forklift and MR/HR licences are highly desirable.
You're an upbeat and personable professional with prior experience working in a similar leadership role.
You have excellent communication skills and your ability to build strong relationships and establish rapport is second to none.
You have a high level of initiative and self-confidence - you are always prepared to jump in to do what it takes for the team to succeed.
You are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and providing the best solutions for your customers.
You have full Australian working rights, as sponsorship will not be offered for this role.
