is expanding its commercial energy portfolio and is seeking a
Senior Electrical Engineer
to lead the delivery of complex Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) projects.
The business operates nationally, delivering trusted energy solutions to commercial and residential customers, and is backed by a large, diversified Australian parent group.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Projects, this is a senior technical leadership role responsible for managing engineers and driving the end-to-end design and delivery of complex embedded generation and DER projects.
You'll work closely with Commercial Sales, Business Development, DNSPs and project delivery teams to shape bankable solutions from tender through to commissioning.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead, mentor and technically guide a team of engineers across commercial PV, BESS and EV charging projects
* Develop complex electrical and system operating concepts for DER and embedded generation applications
* Support RFPs, tenders and commercial opportunities with technical designs, specifications and input to pricing
* Prepare, review and approve detailed electrical and system design drawings to Australian Standards
* Manage DNSP approvals, including fault-level studies and pre/post installation requirements
* Liaise with structural engineers, installers and subcontractors to ensure compliant project delivery
* Support procurement activities and resolve technical issues during design and construction
* Attend client, site and stakeholder meetings as required
* Drive continuous improvement through engineering templates, processes and digital tools
About You
You're a senior engineer who enjoys technical complexity, leadership responsibility and working across the full project lifecycle.
You'll bring:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
* 5+ years' experience within solar, BESS or DER projects
* Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards (AS3000, 3008, 4777.1, 5033)
* Proven experience designing complex commercial Solar PV and Battery systems
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and industry design tools (PVsyst, Helioscope, Aurora desirable)
* CEC Accredited Designer (preferred)
* Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
