As Senior Contracts Lead, you will be the key commercial and contractual advisor to the project team, managing all aspects of contract strategy, execution, supplier performance, and risk mitigation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, engineering contractors, and suppliers to ensure commercial success, safe execution, and strong supplier relationships.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
- A strong focus on safety and safe work practices, with a proactive mindset and visible leadership in HSE
- Experience in the chemicals, energy, or mining sectors, particularly in large-scale project environments
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as commerce, engineering, or project management (or equivalent)
- 7+ years' experience in contract or commercial management, with expertise in complex procurement, supplier performance, and claims management
- A deep understanding of capital project contracting, commercial risk, and post-award contract execution
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary team setting
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the project's Contract Management Plan
- Lead negotiation, performance management, and commercial administration of key contracts
- Resolve contractual claims, manage variations and support dispute resolution where necessary
- Monitor supplier performance across time, cost, safety, and quality metrics
- Ensure full compliance with safety, legal, regulatory, and operational standards
- Drive continuous improvement in contract and commercial processes
