Location Box Hill Work type Full-time, Ongoing Salary Competitive Salary Tax reducing salary package Working model Hybrid, local travel required A little bit about you You are a motivated and adaptable professional with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with experience working with school-aged children, ideally within an education setting. You can work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive and respectful approach in all interactions. You demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to child safety, including Duty of Care responsibilities, Mandatory Reporting obligations, and the 11 Child Safety Standards legislated across Victoria. Experience working with young people and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and those learning English as an Additional Language (EAL) will be highly regarded. You are a collaborative team member who actively contributes to team development and is adaptable in finding practical solutions when challenges arise. You have strong networking and people management abilities, along with sound computer literacy and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Microsoft Teams. View the Position Description here About the role The Education Programs are a Special Work of the Society of St Vincent de Paul Victoria. The purpose of these programs is to support young people in developing social, emotional, and academic confidence. Through participation in structured activities conducted outside of school hours, students are provided with a safe and supportive environment where they can build skills, form positive relationships, and enhance their learning. As the Education Coordinator, you will oversee and facilitate both the Noble Park and Dandenong Education Programs. The Noble Park Education Program provides homework assistance and literacy support, focusing on improving reading skills, to Grade 1 to 6 students from St Anthony’s Primary School. The Dandenong Education Program serves children from Grade 2 to 12 in the Greater Dandenong area, offering homework support and helping to develop general literacy and numeracy skills. Your responsibilities will include managing program facilitation, reporting, administration tasks, as well as recruiting and supporting volunteers. You will also handle student enrolment, maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, track and report weekly statistics, and ensure accurate record-keeping. Additionally, you will contribute to the sustainability and growth of the programs. Throughout the year, you will provide general support to the Youth and Education team as needed. Why join Vinnies?
