This position will be based out of the Melbourne Office and will lead commissioning teams on projects.
Your time will be divided between project management, strengthening client relationships and driving day-to-day business operations, giving you the opportunity to build relationships with some of our most unique clients.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and improve our relationship with clients, manage scope and seek opportunities to provide additional services.Identify, monitor and support attainment of net fee booked plans by driving consistent communication across the organization in coordination with commissioning practice leaders.Assist and collaborate within the commissioning sector and with other sector and service leaders in defining opportunities and engagement strategies for clients.Serve as a key client manager for selected clients.Drive the identification and development of new business opportunities in the commissioning market, including strategy for positioning, proposing and presenting on business development campaigns.Undertake technical assessments of project schedules, drawings, manuals and technical submittals.Develop commissioning implementation plan, schedules, reports, checklists and test scripts.Provide technical advice to clients regarding project and operational risk.Work closely with general contractor's team in developing commissioning strategies and processes that align fully with project objectives.Manage attendance and reporting of factory tests.Undertake and report inspections and tests.Attend project and internal meetings as needed.Manage detailed recording of meetings.Record detailed progress prerequisites.Routine population and management of data in project commissioning software.Provide routine progress reporting and final project close-out report.Arrange third-party sign off as necessary.Required QualificationsA minimum of 8 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines.Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably required by HDR.Must be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process, etc.Must have good computer skills and effective typing skills.Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Project software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Be familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of multidisciplinary designs and the delivery of design & construction services.Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting and general business operations.Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools.Ability to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.What We BelieveHDR is our company.
