JOB OPPORTUNITY: Bottle shop Retail Manager Full-Time | $76,000 per year Roebuck Bay Hotel – Bottle Mart Broome WA The Roebuck Bay Hotel is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to lead the operations of our high‑performing Bottle Mart store. This full‑time role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast‑paced retail environment and is passionate about leadership, customer service excellence, and driving commercial outcomes.
Retail Leadership & Staff Management
* Lead, supervise and mentor the Bottle shop team, including Supervisors and attendants.
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, rostering and performance management.
* Build a strong, positive team culture focused on safety, service and operational excellence.
Store Operations & Customer Experience
* Manage daily retail operations, including opening/closing procedures and service standards.
* Maintain exceptional store presentation, merchandising and cleanliness.
* Resolve customer complaints and account queries professionally and promptly.
* Oversee cash handling, EFTPOS, POS functions, reconciliations and reporting.
Stock Control & Inventory Management
* Manage ordering, purchasing and supplier relationships.
* Maintain accurate stock levels, manage receivals, rotations, variances and stocktakes.
* Ensure pricing accuracy, GP targets, promotional campaigns and ticketing compliance.
Financial & Performance Management
* Monitor retail KPIs including sales, GP%, shrinkage, basket size and labour costs.
* Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for senior management.
* Implement strategies to grow revenue, optimise margins and drive upsell opportunities.
Marketing, Merchandising & Promotions
* Execute Bottle Mart promotions, in‑store campaigns, seasonal displays and local marketing initiatives.
* Maintain best practice merchandising and category layout standards.
* Coordinate supplier activations, tastings and VIP engagement events.
Licensing, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure full compliance with the Liquor Control Act (WA), RSA, BDR/TAMS and internal policies.
* Conduct ID checks, refusals and incident recording in line with legislation.
* Oversee safety in high‑risk environments such as cool rooms, forklifts and vehicle zones.
* Maintain WHS, emergency procedures and staff training compliance.
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated leadership experience in a retail or liquor environment.
* Strong customer service and conflict‑resolution skills.
* High‑level organisational, administrative and analytical ability.
* Experience with POS systems (H&L), retail reporting and supplier portals.
* Solid liquor product knowledge across beer, wine, spirits and RTDs.
Qualifications
* RSA – Mandatory
* Approved Manager – Highly Desirable (or ability to obtain)
* Unrestricted C‑Class Driver Licence (required)
* Forklift Ticket (advantageous)
* Qualifications in retail, business or management (desirable)
