Responsibilities

Within a Primary Health Care Framework, Agency policies, legal requirements and professional competencies the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Continence and Spinal will:

* Provide professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the provision of clinical advice, assessment and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of people with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction, and people living with a spinal cord injury across acute and community practice setting.
* Support an integrated approach to service delivery by developing effective links with other public and community based health service providers and work as part of the multidisciplinary community health team and in close collaboration with clients, General Practitioners (GP) and Specialists.
* Implement evidence based practices through teaching, research, and policy and protocol development and through direct example within the practice setting.


The Team

Working within a Primary Health Care Framework, the Continence and Spinal Service provides advanced clinical leadership, specialist assessment and clinical care to those in the community with continence issues and spinal cord injury across the acute and community practice setting.


The Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Continence and Spinal Service, is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, providing advanced clinical assessment, intervention and evaluation of outcomes for clients living with continence issues and spinal cord injury. The role plays a key part in educating and supporting clients, carers, health professionals, and the wider community about continence issues and how to manage them. This part‑time position is suited to nurses working within the acute or community environment, who want to broaden their knowledge and skill in a specialist area.

You will need

* An interest in learning about and working with clients who have continence issues, bowel and bladder and spinal cord injury.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Ability to operate at a high level of independence in the delivery of specialist assessment, clinical service, education and consultancy.

Details of appointment

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 16 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.

Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.


Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
